On November 29, the data release conference of the "2025 China Feline Diagnosis and Treatment White Paper" was grandly opened at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Luohu District, Shenzhen. The PETFECT comfortable cat catheter was selected as a cat-loving product in the "2025 China Feline Diagnosis and Treatment White Paper". It is soft, fold-resistant, and easy to use.

At the press conference, Dr. Mao Junfu, director of the Feline Specialty Committee of the Chinese Veterinary Association and president of the Feline Branch of the Beijing Small Animal Diagnosis and Treatment Industry Association, brought an interpretation of the "White Paper on Feline Diagnosis and Treatment in China in 2025".
He analyzed the diagnosis and treatment of cats in China from 2023 to 2024. The report shows that the proportion of cats visiting the hospital has increased year by year, reaching 61% in 2024, with first-tier and quasi-first-tier cities accounting for more than 60%. The immunization rate of cats is 48.6%, and the physical examination rate and antibody detection rate have decreased.
Common reasons for visiting the hospital include feline lower urinary tract syndrome, upper respiratory tract infection and gastroenteritis. Sterilization is the main reason for surgery, and feline distemper is a common cause of death. Spring is the peak season for feline diseases, mainly involving skin diseases, digestive and urinary system diseases. A survey of pet owners shows that the main cat owners are young women, highly educated groups, and the trend of intelligent cat raising is rising. Pet owners are troubled by the difficulty and high cost of seeing a doctor, but they pay more attention to the behavior and emotional management of cats.

The "White Paper on Feline Diagnosis and Treatment in China" has been published for four years since 2021. Its content not only includes China's feline diagnosis and treatment data, but also includes an analysis of cat owners' concerns about cat life, medical treatment and behavior, and suggestions for feline practitioners. It can reflect the trends in China's feline diagnosis and treatment and the pain points and needs of cat owners in raising cats, providing a more intuitive reference for all feline practitioners.

The "2025 China Feline Diagnosis and Treatment White Paper" mainly uses data comparison to conduct data statistics. The sampling method and data logic are as consistent as possible with 2023. The five-stage age division method of cats in the 2010 AAFP-AAHA Cat Life Stage Guidelines is still continued for data statistics. It better presents the data change trends of the reasons for consultation, hospitalization, surgery, death, and common disease distribution of cats of different age groups, and provides insights into the factors behind the changes. Problems are discovered from the changes in feline diagnosis and treatment, and the direction of education, training, and scientific research are changed to adapt to the development of feline medicine, improve feline welfare, and thereby enhance the social status of feline doctors, allowing feline medicine to better become a driving force for the growth of pet medicine-related companies and a booster for the development of pet hospitals.

At the same time, the trend of cats as the first pet of Chinese people remains strong, but with the cat-raising boom, cat owners have gradually changed from pet-raising novices to skilled cat owners, and their emotions, cognition of cats, medical treatment, drug purchase, pet insurance and other needs have also undergone some subtle changes. This year, we used mature and relatively consistent questionnaires to explore these changes and the meaning behind them, better adapt to the characteristics of cat owners, realize the emotional value of cat owners, and then enhance the commercial value of the cat economy.
